Professor of Negotiation, SDA Bocconi and Delegate Rector for eLearning at Bocconi University

Leonardo Caporarello is a Professor of Practice of Organizational Behavior in the Leadership, Organization & Human Resources Knowledge Group at SDA Bocconi School of Management, and an Adjunct Professor of Organization at the Department of Management and Technology of Università Bocconi.

Leonardo is the Deputy Dean of Lifelong Learning at SDA Bocconi School of Management. He is the Delegate Rector for E-Learning and Director of BUILT (Center for Innovation in Learning and Teaching) at Università Bocconi. Former Director (2009-2020) of the SDA Bocconi Learning Lab (Educational Innovation Laboratory of SDA Bocconi School of Management).

He is the coordinator of the Negotiation programs and faculty member of the Global Executive MBA and of the SDA Bocconi Asia Center (Mumbai, India). He is part of the faculty team of the following topics: leading and managing effective teams, negotiating successfully, dealing with difficult situations and people, leading initiatives in organizational change, organizational (re)design. He has long-standing and broad experience in designing and teaching graduate and executive education programs – onsite, online, blended.

His main research activities focus on the area of organizational behavior. Currently, he is working on the following topics: multi-countries and multi-cultural negotiation processes; managing initiatives in organizational change, at both macro and micro levels; leading teams, in a co-located and virtual setting; analyzing and redesigning organizational structures and processes; designing effective online and blended learning experiences.

He is the author of a number of publications in journals and books, at national and international levels. The section "Publications" contains a list of selected contributions.

He has been a scientific committee member and organizer of several national and international conferences including Vice President for Education, ItAIS 2019-2020; Track chair of the ECIS 2020; Track chair of the ItAIS, from 2016 to 2020; Program Committee member of the ICAT2E (2017); Vice President for Technology-enhanced Learning (ItAIS, 2014); Digital Communication Chair of the International Conference on Information Systems, 2013; Project Leader of the Global Integrative Module Project from 2013-2015. He is a reviewer for some major international conferences and journals, e.g. ECIS, ItAIS, ICIS, the Journal of eLearning and Knowledge Society. He is the co/author of some online business simulations, designed with the SDA Bocconi Learning Lab.

Leonardo has been a Visiting Professor at the Keio University in Tokyo (Japan), Fudan University in Shanghai (China) and a Visiting Scholar at Michigan State University (USA).

He earned a Specialization in Leadership and Negotiation, Negotiating International Business Deals from Harvard Law School (Boston, USA); a Ph.D. in Organization and Information Systems from Università LUISS (Rome, Italy); a degree in Law and Business Administration, from Università Bocconi(Milan, Italy).
