Cyber House Party (CHP) brings the cybersecurity industry together with a unique blend of thought-provoking discussion, entertainment and DJ sets. Born out of the UK’s first COVID lockdown, CHP’s founders wanted to replicate the informal networking opportunities that usually happen after industry events, and combine it with fund-raising for some worthy causes. The first digital get-together was run in June 2020 and there’s been no looking back since.
Cyber House Party is not just about getting stuck into the group chat and laughing at the on-screen antics of the presenters. It’s also about raising awareness of some important industry issues — from diversity and skills shortages to harassment in the sector. A group discussion on the latter has already given rise to the founding of the Respect in Security action group in mid-2021. CHP has already raised thousands for charity and welcomed over 1,000 attendees. But the best is yet to come.
